THE FEAST OF SAINT SWITHUN

Would you believe it? Just as the Episcopal Church in the USA was winding up its General Convention, and the dark thunderclouds began to gather over certain provinces in the Anglican Combustion Engine, two distinct things happened. First, at the home of the UK Co-editor the tumble dryer gave up the ghost, and second - the entire computer network of the US Co-editor decided to crash in a most bothersome, dramatic way.

We understand the tumble dryer has been replaced, or at least is in that process. This is good news indeed for one corner of the Diocese of Wenchoster. Now, this week, (and a somewhat expensive repair bill later) the Journal's editorial computers have a pulse and are slowly being re-loaded with software and various files. We are therefore able to bring you this somewhat thin version of the Journal - and thank you for your faithfulness and patience.

Were these incidents, together with the election of a woman to be the next Presiding Bishop of the American Province, connected? Only the chaos theory can prove that, but the events have reminded, no - convinced us of two certain necessities in the Anglican world. Clean underwear, and a renewable sense of humour!

Watch and pray!

The Pharisaios Journal is updated every month, but on occasion the spirit moveth us in sundry places and secret parts to slip in an extra item in between publishing dates.  To be regularly informed of any changes please send us your e-mail address (which will be treated in the strictest confidence.)
